Kitchen project - step 1

When I bought this house 9 years ago, I knew that I would need to redo the kitchen sooner or later.  But you know how things go, and you end up fixing up the most horrible things first.  Then you get busy, and you run out of money, and you learn to live with the awful thing that bugged you so much at one time.

Well thanks to my dad and his neighbor, we're finally getting a kitchen face lift!  I'm so excited.  Here is the horrible aqua blue counter top that I had before, with the corroded faucet and rust stained sink.
Here's my favorite part of the the kitchen counter!  My molded / mildew stained butcher block.  Let me think...  I've used this butcher block ummmm, never!  I did have it covered with a dish towel just about every day.  Wouldn't you?
So here's the "before" picture of the whole counter top.
And here's the mid- way picture.  We decided to go with a charcoal gray / marble counter top.  We're going to do a white tile back splash, repaint the walls a bright white, strip and repaint the cabinet doors and replace all of the knobs.  No problem, right?  Piece of cake.

So excited to have a beautiful new faucet and sink.  Wall mounted faucets are pretty rare, so not a lot of choices, but this one is soooo much better than the last one, so I'm happy.
Lots of work to do, but I'm anxious to get going.  I'll keep you posted!
